A lil Holiday Talk

Holiday Talk

We have just returned from the best holiday in Turkey, lots of relaxing on the beach as well as some sight-seeing and of course hunting out treasures, for me and the shop!

Holiday Talk

I loved the interior of our hotel, there were cosy little seating areas dotted around the huge reception with a mix of turquoise and dusty pink upholstered furniture and leather armchairs. The coffee tables were super chic too, a mix of wood and marble, I wanted to take it all home! Oh and that is my husband sitting in the chair, I'm not taking photos behind a stranger....well he is a little strange but I know him.

The grounds of our hotel were so well landscaped and maintained, I loved this walkway to the beach lined with date palms.

We enjoyed 'blue sky' days sight seeing in Side and Manavgat in Antalya. If you're thinking of booking a holiday any time soon, I would highly reccommend Side, it's beautiful and has a great mix of old (2,000 year old ruins to be precise) and new, there are many restaurants, bars and shops but it's managed to retain its authentic 'Turkish' feel!

Of course, the holiday wouldn't be complete without some treasures, we found these gorgeous handmade colourful bowls down a little side street in Side and I had to bring some home with me. Some of the larger bowls will be available on the website when we launch but I had to keep some for myself obviously! This little blue bowl sits nicely on my mantel with my coral fragment and some vintage bottles, creating a little vignette that holds memories and tells a story.

Now, we are back and fully into the swing of things. I'm in a 'sorting' mood (is Autumn cleaning a thing?) I've been stocking the shelves of our Etsy shop, preparing stock for the website launch and having a bit of a clear out at home as well as the usual 30 million (literally) loads of washing, I don't know how just 2 of us can make that much washing?!

I will be back in a few days with some pretty interior shots but for now, I'll leave you with this vintage Chad Valley World globe we just listed in our Etsy shop...seems kinda apt!
